*The emphasis in several areas this year is the American Civil War; for example, the arts test has a component on Civil War Memorials, and the novel in the English test is Stephen Crane's novel about the Civil War, The Red Badge of Courage.**The Super Quiz is the only competition open to the public. This year's topic is the Civil War.
